As the interest in the subject of doomsday in 2012 is great, it leads to all sorts of speculations on fear.
Each year the book was published as an esoteric and pseudo-scientific sense of the opportunities apocalypse.
Since the beginning of XXI century, a host of documentaries and feature films, affecting or concerning this topic.
Thus, in 2009, the motion picture screens out the speaker called "2012", the plot is built around the expectation of the end of the world. Another well-known film that somehow relate to this date - "Apocalypto" director Mel Gibson. The main plot of the film is not directly related to 2012, as the story of the Maya period conquest of the Americas by the conquistadors.         They created a completely fake scientific website. It describes the existing thirty years the organization, which will have prominent international scientists, businessmen and government officials who have come to the conclusion,  that there is 94 percent chance of destroying the Earth in 2012. There have been cases that I wrote about teenagers desire to commit suicide, because they do not want to see the end of the world. I think that putting some of these things to the Internet in order to earn dollars on the fear of children - it is wrong from an ethical point of view.
In addition, the NASA called it the most stupid motion picture film of all time.
Ann Martin, of Cornell University in the U.S., editor, "Ask an astronomer," notes how scared people.:
We get e-mails from fourth-graders who write to us, they are afraid to die young.Recently, we received a message from the mother of two children, which is seriously concerned that will not see, as her children grow up. This is very bad.

In the same article is the opinion of Sandra Noble, head of the Foundation to promote research of Mesoamerica, which claims, that was usually the end of the cycle for the Maya great holiday.
The modern view that with the end of the cycle and the end of the world happens, she calls a "complete fraud and a chance for many people to capitalize on this."  Advisor to the President of Guatemala, Alvaro Colom, also notes that "it's long been a business".
The Government of Mexico has decided to take advantage of the increased interest of the world to the fatal date and offers tours at this time, promising a lot of different activities. Mexico's Minister of Tourism Gloria Guevara said:
Many foreign tourists would like this day to be in Mexico and personally test the predictions of the ancient Indian civilization, and we are ready to satisfy their curiosity.
